You are right the Pac-12 is probably foolish for turning down an ACC-type

offer. However, my only concern about the ACC contract is the length of the contract. Given that a lot can change between now and when the ACC contract ends, it is possible that the ACC could end up leaving a lot of money on the table because hindsight says that ESPN "low balled" the ACC's value. The reason I don't share that same concern about the SEC is because both parties know that the SEC is a "money making machine." So if the SEC ever believed it was being undervalued by ESPN during the current contract, I suspect the SEC has enough leverage to re-negotiate better terms on the current contract or compensate for any "loss revenue" on the next contract.

From that perspective, I could understand why the Pac-12 may have been reluctant to accept ACC-type money. If ESPN isn't willing to shorten the length of the contract for whatever reason, then honestly I would probably be 50-50 on which way I would have voted that day.
